Have just dropped by library and consequently started reading McKinley's Dragonhaven on the way home. The story is in first person and the protagonist reminds me unerringly of Mike, had he been raised on a reserve with dragons (of all things) and had to deal with nature reserve / research institute funding shenanigans. It's like if Mike were in Albert's job, from the "Alby and the Manticore" short story by Moonsheen. (You can read it for free online here and it's awesome. I highly recommend it.) It is, frankly, really weird. And I'm not even five chapters in and I'm already worried that someone will get set on fire by accident.

Is it bad taste to re-use gift bags? Would you care if I re-used gift bags? What are people supposed to do with used gift bags?

Have been catapulted to the middle of the holiday season induced insanity. Should be planning out next week's menu for grocery shopping but exhausted brain cannot come up with anything besides cookies and soup.

I have discovered that the county databases for the jury system are separate, since that my parents, in bay area, have received a jury summons for me...while I have been receiving jury summons addressed to my San Diego address.
