Dear all,
The Dead Sea Scrolls have, apparently, been imaged from the Israel Museum and are now available online. Those of you who remember my quarter with the History of the End of the World class are probably not too surprised. It's pretty cool.
Three sparring sessions today, I will probably be feeling them tomorrow. I have just staggered to lab to discover that my labmate had not only taken out my samples, but have wrapped them up as well and I spent a moment being grateful for the extraordinarily nice labmates that I have. This is not something to be taken for granted: though many of my fellow students and I had the vague idea that becoming researchers would allow us to avoid the tedium of office drama -- people will be people, and what we have instead is lab drama. It can get ugly. I have never had to personally deal with it, for which I am grateful, but yeah, another one of those thing people don't tell you about the academia: there is drama.
I have received Christmas catalog in the mail. This is early.
And now I will go do chores. I seem to spend an inordinate amount of time scrubbing out the sink but I suppose that's the price I pay for living in a place that has no garbage disposal. I have announced this to Wendy as being one of my goals in life: to be able to afford to have my own place that has garbage disposal. I am reasonably sure this is achievable.
(There were other stuff I meant to blog about but my body keep insisting it's nap time and if it's going to be unhelpful like that I'm going to just go and get the stupid chores over with.)
