I am losing feeling in my fingers

I have learned a new word today: empfindsamkeit.
It's German and so sadly I have no idea how to pronounce it and it'll get added to my list of "words I'll recognize in writing but won't be able to pronounce or recognize if someone else pronounces it". (Also sadly, this happens to be a fairly long list.) (But at least the chances of people using these words in a conversation are minimal.)

Also I think someone missed a memo on the arrival of spring. First day's on Wednesday and the forecast says it'll be sunny but it also said it'll be sunny today (it still does, actually) and it's rainy. And also in the 50s. People who grew up in SD may be worrying about hell freezing over at this point.

Totally unrelated, but when one is working in a lab, one of the hazards that no one ever gets warned about are lab markers. Lab markers. That spray. Ink. Spontaneously. From the tips. I mean, what. What is this. Just--?!

I will now end this post with an update from my mother about the state of the backyard. A couple years ago I planted tulips. They're in a nice grid pattern and all evenly spaced. Now they appeared to have migrated and formed clumps.

Who says plants aren't social.

(This is probably not what actually happened, botanically speaking, but I can pretend.)

Now let's see if my sample that's thawing on ice (it marginally more futile than it actually is, but only marginally) is done thawing.
