countdown

it is very strange you know, to be going for school for a few days in the morning where it's completely empty, and then come to school one morning and find it full of people. "what shall i think on't?" (beside the fact that i'm obviously wacko.)

everything is ...not winding down, but winding in, like a spiral. those kind of coils that you can find in mechanical watches that you wound up tight everday so it would go on ticking for the next 24 hours. analogy? we're being wound up, all wound up, stressed, prepped, for the things that come (the seniors at least). and then we go ticking off until we're loose again (sometimes two weeks later, with hope), and there'd be no one to wind us up for a whole summer. the lapse of time between the loosening of the coils and the actual end of school year has appropriatedly been dubbed "senioritis." the inflammed seniors. ha?

so we go "wind wind wind"
sing it with me now
"wind wind wind"
and then next week we'll go
"tictock tictock"

bang?
