snap!

Ode (derived from the word "odious") To Homework [Over Spring Break]

To work over vacation
Since they're such a pain
For the knowledge
That we hope to gain
The essays and projects--
Aye, the packets too
There is just so much
That we've still got to do

"Vacation?" What's that?
Who'd ever heard of it
We're too busy looking for
The profit of econ's weird widgets
The break is as nonexistent
As the joy that's in our keeping
As we struggled with grammar
In our thesis's rephrasing

Cheers! It's this time of year
In which we must suffer
Over the weight of our heavy workload
Let's all stress-out together!
Hark! You can hear our groans
As we crack open the text books
And attempt to stuff lessons of things
Into our brain's every cranny and nook

O work you're dear to us
Though you're odious in nature
Because against all odds you might
Be needed in the near future
For the AP season's coming
The tests, and finals, I hear
So, homework, though I hate you so
Alas, it's that time of the year!

so yes, feel free to spread this bit of spring time joy around. lol. the last bit is written after i got home so you can tell the difference between writing in calculus and writing in a more relaxing environment (my own room). and no, i don't find calculus relaxing, even remotely, in any vaguely comprehensible way.

the movie day afterwards was great fun though. thank you, lucy, for having us over! and more thanks for "anticipating" our craving for chocolate (mad gypsy skills, eh? i swear that painting inspired you...). i was also going to quote someone on something but, unfortunately, i'd forgotten after a night's rest, so you're going to have to satisfy yourself with my off-beat "poem" up above.

make do...make do...
