they say that when "life gives you lemons, make lemonade," (or, in the less common but more well-liked version, "chuck it at someone"). the weather has not been good for citruses lately i hear, so what would happen when life no longer can afford to give out lemons? what's something else that can normally considered inedible? brussel sprouts?
"when life gives you brussel sprouts...."
no, that just doesn't have the same ring to it. besides, with lemon you can make all sort of things (partially due to an ironic contribution by lemon extract), what can you do with brussel sprouts? brussel sprout juice? that sounds very nasty, doesn't it? to quote a line from garfield "if scientists can find a use for it, we wouldn't have to eat it!"
kate called me yesterday afternoon [no transition] and asked about this "computer problem" that she can't download zip files. after going through all the options and configurations we discovered that the culprit was, in fact, zonealarm, which i didn't know she uses and she didn't know could affect the download. but now that that was fixed, i'm forcefully reminded of when we had to download that thing for a lab in networking...and i had to go and manually change the settings (on both ashley's computer and mine) because the thing kept blocking the connections when we were using explorer. needless to say, i'm none too fond of zonealarm. another item added to the list of programs i-will-never-use-if-i-can-help-it category.
physio has started to remind me about networking, except it's slightly [yes, slightly] more useful.
