i just checked mail. snail mail, to be exact. NYU's stuff came, as they promised, on april fool's day. they sent a cardboard folder...complete with a small magazine and the envelopes and the works. very impressive, it was. Berkeley's packet also came today in the form of this...thing (I really don't know what you'll call it). I found what's written there highly amusing and as a result I'll share a bit of it, with bits of my editorial-styled comments added for your amusement.
This is what you've been waiting for, the good news. (No kidding.) ...The sound you hear is the world opening up at your feet. (Sounds horrifying, like I'm about to take Dante's legendary descent into hell...which makes you wonder at the allusion...) It's the sound of ideas popping. (As in exploding? From the ground? Like mushrooms or like grenades?)

i didnt get my berkeley stuff yet =P does this mean you got into nyu?
oh and, berkeley seems to have a weird sense of humor (unless they thought they were being eloquent, but that would be scary). 1 point to berkeley for that ;P
